I love Google, I do. But we live in a world where our data is the most precious commodity and Google has all of mine. Pictures, email, calendars, smart home integrations, passwords, documents, bookmarks, and the list goes on. I want to see what I can self-host, what I can't (e-mail), and then make a disaster recovery plan BEFORE doing any of it. Not to mention the fact that I don't want to pay Google when I can probably manage my pictures and file access myself. It's definitely going to be a lot of work.
